Manor Community Academy in Hartlepool was given a multi-million pound refurbishment as part of the Priority Schools Building Programme. Following initial discussions, the staff of Manor Academy visited both the Godfrey Syrett showroom and previous school installations for inspiration. The school’s vision was to create a place where all children are regarded as individuals, and to ensure the 5 years students spend with them are as much about their experience as the exams they will sit. The furniture installed around the school needed to reflect and facilitate this vision.
Our Design Team worked with both the Academy staff and the contractor drawings over various on-site visits. They calculated the amount and type of new furniture required and ensure it suited with the school’s fitted and legacy furniture. Bespoke pieces of furniture were designed alongside standard products, to match the Academy’s core colours. Furniture was installed across classrooms, food and technology areas, dining spaces and office areas, over the space of 3 weeks.
“Throughout the planning stage, numerous on-site meetings were held and nothing was too much trouble. The products are specifically designed for a school environment, are hard-wearing, comfortable to use and value for money.
Overall the experience of working with Godfrey Syrett was excellent and stress free. I would have no hesitation in using them again for the supply of education furniture.”
