George Road, Edgbaston

The Project
54 George Road is a new-build, 50 bed student accommodation block in Edgbaston; housing a mixture of standard bedrooms and self-contained studio flats. The client, Calthorpe, wanted a boutique-style accommodation unit, which could be used for mixed market tenancies.

Work on the project commenced in May 2017, and concluded in June 2017 after an install period of around 7 weeks.

Our Solution

We worked with the end client Calthorpe, their nominated contractor Torsion Group, and the architect Glancy Nichols, to develop furniture selections and space layouts for the project. Our Head of Design Mark Richards worked collaborated closely with Glancy Nichols throughout the design process, to ensure we developed the best solution for the client’s brief.

The bedrooms throughout the scheme were fitted with bespoke solutions to provide maximum storage space, including in-bed storage and bespoke headboards with shelving.

Customer Feedback
“Having successfully worked together on a number of education projects, this was a great opportunity for Godfrey Syrett to showcase their furniture for the student accommodation sector. From initial concept design, to a factory visit with our client to understand their manufacturing capabilities, through to delivery on-site, Godfrey Syrett have delivered at each step along the way. I look forward to working together again in the near future and continuing to build on the foundations of a good relationship between Torsion and Godfrey Syrett”.
